Your clients log in to see their remaining hours, time entries and invoices, pay online and buy more hours.
Firms that sell hours get this question by email every month. Someone on the team looks up the time, adds it up and replies. The portal shows the client the same number, with the entries and invoices behind it, at any time.
The portal does not handle e-signatures or tax documents, and clients cannot edit or approve time.
The number of hours left, a bar showing hours used, left and expired, and each block of hours with its expiry date.
A timesheet for any date range, by project, with a CSV export. Billable work only.
Every invoice with its status and what is outstanding, the PDF, payments and credit notes. Statements of hours, if you turn them on.
One conversation with your team. The files you share and the ones they upload, on Unlimited.
Rates, costs, running timers, non-billable time, projects you hide, your internal notes and your other clients. The full list.

Stripe's payment page opens. They pay by card or bank debit, whichever your Stripe account offers.
Each purchase creates an invoice. The hours are added when the payment clears.
Subscribe to a retainer plan, change it or cancel it. A smaller plan starts at renewal, and you're emailed when a client cancels or moves down.
Messages with attachments up to 20 MB, and files up to 50 MB each. Your team is emailed.
Payments go to your own Stripe account. Timebun takes no fee; Stripe's own fees apply. Clients enter card details on Stripe's page, so you never see card numbers.
Every bundle below is added to this same balance and drawn on the same way. Each one raises a proper invoice you can pay by card or bank debit.
Your hours are added when the payment clears, not when you press Buy — so the balance above will usually not have moved by the time you come back. A card is normally a moment; a bank debit can take up to four business days. Every top-up is a proper invoice, and it appears in your invoices, paid or not.
When a client's balance falls to the level you set: 5 hours by default, adjustable per client, or 0 to turn alerts off. It is sent once each time the balance drops below that level.
Everyone at the client with a portal login, and their invoice recipients. The email has a Buy hours button that opens the portal. Your Owner and Admins receive a separate notification.
New work is billed as overage on the next invoice. How the warning works.
You have 4.50 hours left with Foundry Collective, which is under the 5.00 hours we flag at.
Topping up now keeps the work moving without anything going onto overage.
Regards,
Foundry Collective

All projects are visible by default. Hide a project and its entries and files are removed from the portal. Its time still counts against the client's hours and appears on statements.
Clients see only the bundles and plans you publish in their currency. Clients set to Hourly only get no Buy hours page.
For the whole workspace and for each client.
Turn it off and Messages leaves every portal. Choose who hears about each client's messages.
Every file you upload stays internal until you share it. Each file keeps a log of who downloaded it and when.
Deactivate any client login. Use View as to see the portal exactly as one client sees it.
You invite each person from the client's People tab; clients cannot sign themselves up. Invitations are valid for 14 days. Client logins do not use a seat on your plan. Everyone you invite can pay and buy hours, so invite the people responsible for spending. How to invite.
The portal, messaging and hour purchases are included in Starter, at $15 per seat per month.
Unlimited costs $199 per month for any number of people. It adds your logo and colors to the portal and its emails, and a portal address such as yourfirm.timebun.com, which we set up for you. Client files are included in Unlimited.
The Custom domain & email add-on costs $99 per month and puts the portal at an address such as portal.yourfirm.com. Sending invoices and reminders from your own email address is coming soon to this add-on. Branding, step by step.
“We can finally sell retainers and packs of hours — and our clients can see exactly where they stand.”

Clients on retainer ask how many hours are left because they budget them. Answer with six facts in a monthly statement, and a page they can check in between.
BillingThree ways a firm can bill clients for its time: hourly, a monthly retainer, or a prepaid block of hours. When each fits and what clients need to see.
